About Coursera

Coursera began when two Stanford University computer science professors decided to put their courses online for public use. They were excited about their success and created Coursera in collaboration with several well-known universities. Coursera now offers degrees and professional certificates in technology and related fields. Most courses last four to ten weeks, with one to two hours of lectures per week. Students who choose to pay tuition will take quizzes, homework and exams, and will receive a certificate upon completion. More than 49 million people worldwide have attended Coursera courses.

Tips for saving Coursera
Join Coursera for free. Click the Free Join button in the upper right corner of the page. Enter your name and email, or sign up for Facebook.
You can review most Coursera products for free. You can always choose to upgrade to a certification course.
Most courses offer 7-day free trial registration.
If you are studying for a certificate or degree, you can register through subscription. Pay a monthly fee and access all courses in your field of expertise.

You can apply for financial assistance from Coursera. Scroll to the bottom of the home page. Look for “Help” in the column labeled “More”. Click “Help”, then scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Help Article”. Under Payment and Subscription, you will click “View all 18 articles”. In the lower half of the “Payment and Subscription” column, find “Apply for Financial Aid or Scholarship”. Click it and you will see the complete instructions for applying for financial assistance.

Does Coursera offer a certificate or degree?
Taking Coursera courses is a great way to save on tuition fees because they are much cheaper than taking live courses. You can take individual courses, register for certificate courses run by companies such as Google and IBM, and even earn a master’s degree through Coursera’s partnerships with American and European universities.

Will Coursera refund the course fees?
You can cancel a single course and request a refund within 14 days. The subscription will not be refunded, but it can be cancelled at any time.

What are the contact details for Coursera?
Coursera does not have a phone number. The best way to contact them is to look under the column labeled “More” at the bottom of the homepage and click “Contact”. Then click on Student Help Center. After logging in, you will enter a page where you can access the online chat. Another way to communicate with Coursera is to send them a message through your Facebook page.

There is also an online Coursera community where you can talk to other students and get help from them. Scroll to the bottom of the homepage, find the column named “Community”, and click “Students.”
